Ukraine International will enhances its domestic network by launching new non-stop scheduled flights between Kiev and Vinnytsia effective 25 Mar 2018.

The new daily flights will be operated on Embraer-145 aircraft with two-class cabin configuration – Business Class and Economy Class. Travel time is 55 minutes.

The launch of Kiev – Vinnytsia flights will provide passengers with more opportunities to reach the new domestic destination. Meanwhile, those departing from Vinnytsia will be able to take full advantage of the UIA vast route network and travel to 40 countries via Kiev Boryspil International Airport.

Friday, February 16, Ukraine International received the first out of four wide-body long-haul Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

The aircraft passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received the UR-GOA registration number. Boeing 777-200ER aircraft accommodates 361 passengers in three-class seating configuration, i.e. Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class. UIA expects to operate the UR-GOA aircraft on its long-haul routes to New York, Beijing, and Bangkok.

Leased from the world’s leading lessor AerCap, the aircraft is equipped with Panasonic Corporation individual IFE system. Every seat is equipped with personal screen with a vast content menu, including feature movies, music, and computer games. To promote Ukraine’s cinematograph, passengers of Boeing 777 will be offered a variety of Ukrainian movies. The content is available in four languages, i.e. Ukrainian, English, Chinese, and Russian.

Moreover, passengers will be able to track the aircraft in real-time mode by using the interactive touch-sensitive 3D-map with 3D globe image, 100 city guides, including 20 cities of Ukraine, Kids map – Animals App, and other information.

USB-units and electrical power sockets are installed in all cabins with Wi-Fi connectivity available during the flight.

The aircraft is equipped with Bruce Aerospace Sky Interior modern lighting system which is customized so that the lighting regime changes according to natural environment. The latter helps create a special atmosphere and add extra comfort to the passengers’ long-haul trips.

Arrival of the UR-GOA aircraft is the initial stage of the UIA long-haul fleet development. Three more fully reconfigured Boeing 777 aircraft are scheduled to arrive in Q1 – Q3 2018. Prior to reconfiguration, the aircraft will undergo heavy maintenance checks including tests and checks of all systems, key components, and units. The maintenance and reconfiguration will be performed by Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, Amsterdam.

UIA operates 43 aircraft including 27 medium haul Boeing 737 NG aircraft. Currently, UIA fleet’s average age amounts to 11.9 years.

It is six years since Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, became the first independent carrier in the UK to create a regional network hub through which customers could benefit from additional regional point to point connections via Manchester Airport.

To mark the anniversary, Flybe CEO Christine Ourmières-Widener and senior management colleagues were joined by Stephen Turner, Manchester Airport’s Commercial Director at a special event that included a cake cutting ceremony together with a suitably romantic ‘fun’ element featuring Lola the labradoodle dog who spread some additional love by offering travellers purple roses as they arrived at the airport.

Flybe operates 17,500 regional movements a year at Manchester where it is the airport’s largest scheduled carrier and where it has been an integral player for over 13 years. In 2012, the airline committed to better serving its passengers with improved connectivity. So it set about adjusting its domestic schedules and, with the airport’s help to streamline processes, reduced minimum connection times to as little as 35 minutes. By way of example, a passenger wanting to travel to Aberdeen from Southampton, has a choice of up to four connecting flights a day via Manchester – with a total point to point travel time of just three hours! By rail, this would take 10 hours with three station changes.

Flybe’s Manchester hub has proved of particular benefit not only to those travelling on the airline’s own network, but, just as importantly, created additional opportunities for connections to global destinations offered with many of Flybe’s codeshare partners operating out of Manchester to locations including Abu Dhabi, Chicago, and Toronto.

Its value received an additional boost recently with the announcement by Virgin Atlantic to increase its codeshare agreement with Flybe at Manchester. Now, Scottish travellers have more access to the USA and the Caribbean than ever before, taking advantage of Flybe’s route between Manchester and Glasgow. This has opened up all of Virgin Atlantic’s seven Manchester routes to customers travelling from the Scottish city for the first time that are currently Atlanta, Barbados, Boston, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando and San Francisco.

The White City offers imposing mountains, volcanoes like EI Misti, deep canyons as Colca, a renowned cuisine and more.

Known as the White City because of its beautiful white walls made from the volcanic stone known as “sillar”, Arequipa lies on the slopes of the imposing Chachani and Misti volcanoes and the snowcapped peak Pichu Pichu. The department of Arequipa presents a varied topography. It begins in the coastal desert and rises into the Andes reaching a great height in the peaks of its snowcapped mountains and volcanoes.

Hiking in the Solomon Islands is an adventure not to be missed. For those who want to discover the authentic Solomon Islands there is so much to discover -  raw, untouched natural beauty, rich diversity of flora and fauna and unique cultures.

There are walks to suit all fitness levels and timeframes, from half hour strolls just out of Honiara to multi day hikes across remote rainforest clad mountains.

In most cases, taking a guide or at least getting their advice is recommended. Not only will they help you navigate but you'll get the opportunity to share their remarkable knowledge of the environment and their help in arranging village stays and paying custom fees to the local property owners.

Villages and waterfalls
Walking is a great way to experience the real Solomons and provides an opportunity to visit small villages away from the main infrastructure. Some villages such as Macedonia on Guadalcanal take just a short walk to reach but are a world away in many respects. Walk through rainforest, among tangles of vines, wild flowers and brilliant red dragonflies. Others take  more effort to get to but you'll be well rewarded with a unique insight into the history and traditions including headhunting sites and skull shrines.

The topography of the islands means there are also numerous spectacular waterfall walks and some can be easily combined with a village visit. The Mataniko Falls are a popular attraction, cascading over boulders and into pools before thundering down into a hidden cave. The Borare cascades also put on a magnificent display with beautiful pools to plunge into.

Coasts
Wander the striking sunlit coral atolls or follow winding trails along the edge of the rugged volcanic islands - in such an extensive archipelago, opportunities to explore the magical coastline are virtually limitless. Keep an eye out for the sparkle of blue kingfishers, hornbills and megapodes nestled into the undergrowth.

A multi day tour of the Gatokae Weather Coast is one of many stunning trips showcasing the Solomon's remote rugged coastal scenery, little known valleys and unique headhunting history, kastom sites and stories.

Mountains and volcanoes
The Solomons include some surprisingly mountainous terrain including active and extinct volcanoes. The adventurous may be able to take a tour up to the old lava flows on Tinakula, the Solomon Island's most active volcano. Uninhabited and very remote, it's an unforgettable experience.

The majestic peak of Kolombangara in the Western Province is another perfect cone-shaped volcano and well worth the climb. A long steep trek will take you up into cloud forest with impressive views and remarkable rainforest vegetation, sustainably managed by the local community.

Similar spectacular views are available from Mt Mariu, on Gatokae Island in New Georgia, looking down over the exquisite Marovo Lagoon. Walking through the low altitude mossy cloud forest can be both eerie and utterly sublime.

Ukraine International summarized operational performance. In 2017, UIA carried nearly 7 million passengers and, therefore, increased traffic by 16.4%. The UIA passenger traffic via Kiev Boryspil International Airport was increased by 18%, up to 6.25 million travelers.

​UIA transit traffic on scheduled flights reached 54.1%. Domestic transit was increased by 16%, up to 543.4 thousand passengers; international transit was boosted by 22%, up to 2.68 million passengers. In 2017, UIA operated 65.4 thousand flights, by 16.6% more compared to 2016. The average load factor amounted to 80%.

UIA launched new flights from Kiev to Bergamo, Budapest, Krakow, and Kherson. Moreover, the carrier started operating non-stop flights from Zaporizhzhia to Tel Aviv and Batumi, as well as from Chernivtsi to Bergamo.

The airline kept increasing frequencies on the routes between Kiev and Beijing, Colombo, Dusseldorf, Vilnius, Brussels, Madrid, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as between Ivano-Frankivsk and Alicante.

Within the reported timeframe UIA increased mail and cargo traffic by 32.2%, up to 20.28 thousand tons due to further development of transit opportunities at Kiev Boryspil International Airport.

As part fleet renewal and extension program, in 2017 UIA received five Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, including two brand new ones that arrived from Boeing facilities in Seattle. Meantime, the carrier decommissioned three Boeing 737 Classic aircraft and returned them to the lessor. Currently, UIA operates 42 aircraft with the average age of 10.9 years.

Ukraine International keeps enhancing Under the Wing CSR Program by providing those who need to undergo urgent treatment and rehabilitation abroad, i.e. seriously ill children, injured military personnel who took part in the anti-terroristic operation in Eastern Ukraine, and their companions, with free tickets. In 2017, UIA increased humanitarian traffic by one third, up to 3304 passengers.

“Last year turned out to be quite challenging and, therefore, promising, – noted Yuri Miroshnikov, UIA President. – We carried our 40-millionth passenger, renewed fleet, and offered travelers to take advantage of our new low-cost fare concept that allows early bookers to purchase tickets at the lowest possible fares. The latter will empower us to make our passengers’ long-haul journeys even more enjoyable. Our goal remains unchanged – we are committed to becoming the leading network carrier of Eastern Europe.”

Milan Malpensa network
The new Milan Malpensa network will be covering a total of 17 destinations from Milan Malpensa out of which 7 destinations will be new routes for Meridiana.
Starting from June 2018 both New York (JFK) and Miami will be connected non-stop with Milan Malpensa, respectively on a daily basis and four times a week.
Meridiana new domestic services will connect Milan Malpensa to the five Italian cities of Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania and Lamezia Terme. These new routes will have less than two hours connection with the incoming flights from New York and Miami to Milan, allowing passengers to reach the most beautiful destinations in the centre and south of Italy. Cabin configuration will be up to 16 Business Class seats and a flexible Economy Class ranging between 160 to 189 seats.

Tarapoto is a city in the northeast of Peru, located at a height of 250 m.a.s.l on the bank of the Shilcayo River, tributary of the Mayo. It is one of the main tourist and commercial cities of the Peruvian Amazon and it is the 20th city of Peru. It currently has a population of almost 150.000 (2012) inhabitants, and is the most populated city of the department of San Martín. It is known as the City of the Palm Trees.

When the Spaniards arrived, the town of Cumbazas existed in the valley of Tarapoto. Its inhabitants were exterminated by war when they presented resistance. According to legend, a family which took part in the fight survived this disaster. Once they were exterminated, their children (a boy and a girl) took refuge in the hills; the Apu God took pity on the orphans, and made the boy a strong and robust bull and the girl a beautiful butterfly; they both took refuge in the forests of the cerro escalera. The pain and sadness produced in them uncontrollable crying. The bull cried so much that its tears became the Shilcayo River. The beautiful and native butterfly came down from the hills to observe the ruin of her town. A Spanish archer was fascinated by her beauty when he saw her and did not hesitate to catch her, and the wounded butterfly fell to the ground becoming the lagoon of Suchiche, which is the origin of Tarapoto.

Tarapoto is 353 m.a.s.l. and the Province of San Martín varies from 120 m.a.s.l. to more than 1,600 m.a.s.l. Due to its height and the mountains that surround the city, Tarapoto has a fresher climate than the other main cities of the Peruvian Amazon. The average daily temperature is 29°C with a variation of 18°C to 34°C. The dry seasons are from June to October and December until February and the rainy season from February until May and October until December with the heaviest rains in March and April and the driest season is in July, August and September.

​Air Caraïbes is a French airline and is the regional airline of the French Caribbean which comprises two overseas departments of France: Guadeloupe and Martinique. 

The airline is headquartered in Les Abymes in Guadeloupe and its main base is Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport, with a hub at Le Lamentin Airport, near Fort-de-France.[3] It operates scheduled and charter services serving 13 islands in the West Indies. Central Markets are an explosion for the senses, with a colourfully clad woman and the smell of freshly caught fish, and locally grown fruit and vegetable. This must do is also a great spot to find traditional Solomon craft.

Step away from the beaches and get lost amongst the picturesque tropical vegetation, home to some of a unique wildlife and plants. With new species being discovered all the time, look for yourself, who knows what you might discover. The Solomon Islands is a wonderland for walking and exploring!

6.    Dive deep to discover
Discover some of the world's most unspoilt dive sites in the World, with world class diving year-round this underwater Garden of Eden, is worth suiting up for. Some of our favourite dive spots include Bilikiki and Blue Pyjamas – with the latter being great for snorkelling too!

Boeing and Royal Air Maroc (RAM) today announced orders for (4) 787-9 Dreamliners – valued at $1.1 billion at list prices – that will enable Morocco's flag carrier to expand international service.

The orders, previously listed as unidentified on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website, include two 787s purchased in December 2016 and two purchased this month.

Royal Air Maroc, which has already taken delivery of five 787-8s, will grow its fleet of fuel-efficient 787s to a total of nine airplanes. Royal Air Maroc flies 787s on international routes from Casablanca to North America, South America, the Middle East and Europe, and with the additional airplanes plans to expand service to these areas.

Thanks to our unique position as a geographic hub and high quality of service, we bring customers from all over the world to their destinations.
