The airline has the widest domestic route network in Russia, created on the basis of two air transport hubs at Moscow (Domodedovo) and Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo). It also has regular flights to the countries of the CIS, Europe, the Near East, South-East Asia and to countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
The airline’s story began in 1957, with the first civil flight from a military airport in Novosibirsk, by the Tolmachevo united air group; Sibir Airlines was based on that group. Since 2005 Sibir Airlines has operated under the brand S7 Airlines.
S7 Airlines has one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the Russian air carriage market. The average age of the aircraft is eight years and all are of foreign construction, manufactured by Airbus and Boeing. The fleet consists of 38 aircraft: 20 - Airbus A319s, 15 - Airbus A320, 1 - Airbus A310 and 2 - long-distance Boeing 767-300s.
S7 Airlines is a member of the oneworld global alliance, world leader in providing quality service to air passengers. Oneworld brings together airlines from every continent, serving a total of 150 countries. In becoming alliance members, airlines can offer passengers many more services and benefits. S7 Airlines’ membership of oneworld also confirms the airline’s compliance with international quality and safety standards.
S7 Airlines leads the market in the provision of on-line services, allowing passengers to choose flights, reserve tickets, make payments and check in for flights through its website. In 2008 the airline changed over entirely to the use of e-ticket technology, and 2009 saw the launch of the first mobile website of any Russian airline, here at s7.ru. Then, in January 2011, the airline introduced the ‘mobile boarding pass’ service.
The S7 Priority program enables frequent flyers to collect miles, and receive bonuses from S7 Airlines, oneworld members, and other commercial partners.
