Domodedovo and Meridiana start roundtrips from Moscow to Milan Domodedovo Moscow Airport, named the best airport in Russia, and Meridiana together launch a new route from Milan Malpensa to Moscow and back. Meridiana accomplished its first flight from Milan to Moscow today at 22 March, 2017.
Upcoming flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on a weekly basis and from May, 7, a fourth frequency will be added on Sundays. The flights will take off from Moscow at 12.10 and from Milan Malpensa at 06.55; the flight time is about 3 hours and half. The route will be operated by a Boeing 737 - 800 with a dual configuration of 168 seats in economy and 14 in Electa, Meridiana’s business class. Moreover, in summer 2017, from June, Meridiana is to start again regular roundtrips from Olbia Costa Smeralda to Moscow, Domodedovo. Commenting on the news, Alexey Rayevsky, Deputy Director for Commerce of Domodedovo Moscow Airport said: "We are happy to welcome Meridiana in Moscow Domodedovo Airport. I believe that together with our partner we will continue to develop the route network to Italy. This country remains one of the most popular destinations among Russian citizens - more than 300 000 travelers used Domodedovo services to visit Italy in 2016". “We are delighted to launch nonstop service to Moscow Domodedovo from Milan Malpensa and we are very proud to be the new Italian player in this important market” said Andrea Andorno, Chief Commercial Officer of Meridiana. “Both Milan and Moscow are among the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, with a unique and rich history, beautiful architecture and world-class museums. Our new 4 times weekly nonstop service makes it easy to fly in both cities for long or short leisure stays and the flights are timed to allow businessmen to arrive first in Moscow from Milan.” Milan became the eleventh Italian destination in the route network of Domodedovo Moscow Airport. Airport’s partnering airlines also perform regular flights to Verona, Genoa, Pisa, Naples, Venice, Olbia, Rimini, Turin, Catania, Lamezia.
