Discover Peru - Cuzco Cuzco is a city in the southeast of Peru located on the eastern slope of the Andes Mountain Range, in the basin of the Huatanay River, affluent of the Vilcanota. It is the capital of the Department of Cuzco and additionally, it is declared in the Peruvian constitution as the country’s historical capital.
Its climate is generally dry and mild. It has two defined seasons: a dry season between April and October, with sunny days, cold nights with frost and average temperatures of 13°C; and another rainy season, from November until March, with an average temperature of 12°C.
