Expanding network in 2017 with the acquisition of new aircraft As part of RwandAir’s expansion strategy, the airline in November 2016 received it's second Airbus A330 (300 series) and a Boeing 737-800 Next Generation equipped with inflight connectivity on a line-fit program, while another Boeing 737-800 Next Generation is expected to deliver in May 2017.
With these brand new aircraft, RwandAir is planning to expand into long haul operations and increase frequencies on existing routes. Starting with a new link to Harare via Lusaka connecting into Kigali to the rest of the network by mid-January, more destinations including Mumbai, London, Lilongwe, Bamako, Conakry and New York will also follow in 2017.
